There is a pharmacy store, too. Reggina's apartments are only about 100 meters away from the quiet beach of Voulgari and a short walk from the blue flagged Finikas beach and the cosmopolitan Agathopes beach.
Ermoupoli "the Queen of the Cyclades", the capital and harbour of Syros is indisputably the capital of all the Cycladic islands.
Standing on an amphitheatrically site with neoclassical buildings, old mansions and white houses cascading down the harbour it has a grandeur all of its own in its centre where Miaoulis square lies ringed with picturesque cafes. Of great importance is the Town Hall with Ziller's designs, the monument of the admiral Miaoulis and The Municipal Theatre Apollon,-a micrography of Scala di Milano. There are stat
ely churches, the most interesting of which are Metamorphosis, Koimisis, St Demetrius, three Hierarchs and St. Nicolas. The Archaeological museum has a collection of notable findings and the Municipal Library contains interesting, rare editions. The quarter of the town where the sea captains lived, known as Vaporia, is of special interest as neoclassical mansions stand along its narrow streets.
Ano Syros with the walls, the narrow streets and the arcades maintains its medieval atmosphere. The innumerable steps on the uphill roads are really enchanting. At the top stands the Catholic Basilica of St Giorgio, next to which there is the centre of Historical Studies. Downhill one can see the two Abbeys of the Jesuits and the Capuchins whereas in the centre of the town there is the Town Hall with the Historical Archive of Ano Syros and the museum of the musician and composer of popular music, Markos Vamvakaris.
During the summer, usually, one can see exhibitions of folk character. On the Northeastern part of the island lies Halandriani and the Hill Kastri with significant prehistoric findings.
Northwest the inaccessible beaches of the island are of great interest as one can see inscriptions on the rocks dating back to the Roman and Byzantine times. The view is really magnificent from this place named Grammata.
The south and the west parts of Syros are the most densely populated and there lie the most important beaches, Galissas-one of the greatest resorts with a long, sandy beach, Poseidonia or Delagratsia - a coastal area with the beautiful beach Agathopes and the neoclassical houses of splendid architecture, Vari with its picturesque beach, the Foinikas bay, Kini and Mega Gialos.
One can also enjoy swimming at Kymata, St Nicolas(Ermoupoli), Ampela, Delfini and Ahladi.
The island has a good tourist infrastructure and it is a great holiday destination.
